Our Family Before Dahlia

There has never been a time where there hasn’t been a dog in my life. We didn’t know it then but we have always been poodle people. My uncle started this chain of poodles within the family before I was even born. He had a toy poodle named Jasmine, we called her Jazzy for short. Jazzy then one day had babies and we were blessed with the most amazing gift.
We were born on the same day just a year apart. My parents named her Susie. She was this perfect little dark grey toy poodle with a sassy personality. She was my best friend. We grew up together and I couldn’t imagine life without her. Susie and I were inseparable. She was incredibly well behaved and had such a desire for other peoples love and affection. She LOVED all the attention she could get.
Susie had two other siblings that stayed within the family. Kiara was a white toy poodle and Daisy was a black toy poodle. There were some additional poodles that joined our extended family. Abu, Howie, Ali. Looking back at now there’s somewhat of an Aladdin theme going on there! Abu and Howie were white/cream and Ali was a gorgeous red. He was the first Red poodle in our family.
Each family had a poodle or two in their family. But for us, Susie was our one and only...up until 2015 when another little stud joined our family. Before then we took her to every dinner party, camping trip, and vacation that we could. The memories that I have of her are never ending. I am thankful for all the memories because I was never the kind to take pictures of everything. I wish I would have. Susie was the last toy poodle in the entire family to cross the rainbow bridge. Her sisters had gone before her and unfortunately not in the best ways. We were lucky to be there with Susie and hold her one last time. She blessed our family with 17 years.
She made it hard to move on. I was 18 at the time. Life without her in it didn’t look or feel right. Since I could remember she was always there in the good and bad. I needed her the most at that time. As time went on it got easier. Looking back at it now if it wasn‘t for Susie we wouldn’t have the furbabies that we have now. Susie gave us more blessings even after she left us. ❤️
